ABOUT ME

I am Agustin Tristan. With over 35 years experience in Education and Engineering, I hold major portfolios of Evaluation and Certification in collaboration with Boards of Nursing, Engineering, Medicine, Teaching amongst others, across Latin America and Europe, mainly through the INSTITUTE OF EVALUATION AND ADVANCED ENGINEERING.

I have participated in revamping and standardizing professional certifications, admissions, high stakes and outcome measurement in Latin America. I have been a user and developer during the critical transformation in infrastructure and quality of the education. My engineering background combined with expertise in psychometrics, educational evaluation, numerical simulation, development of algorithms, models and software lets me provide new solutions all over the world.

A proud alumnus of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in France and the Mexican National University (UNAM), I began my career teaching mathematics at the College of Engineering in the UNAM. From a young age, I have been at the forefront of international cultural activities and co-founded IEIA Foundation that provides educational support to people in need.

In addition, I invite you to read my books or papers, where you may find new approaches to solve some daily evaluation problems.

The experience of Dr. Tristán on psychometric assessment and statistical modelling has been very valuable for the exams that we design and apply in Mexico. He has been closely working with us since 1994, in particular he has provide the software products that we are using for test scoring and analysis. Up today, we have scored more than seven millions tests in 30 different exams. He has also participated with us in the formulation of the mathematical models suitable for assessment and item banking.
